Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) drawn from the Northern, Savannah and North East Regions, have received GhC 200,000 grant as COVID-19 Business Relief Support.
The PWDs received their funds in a ceremony dubbed; “Financial Inclusion for Entrepreneurs with Disability” in Tamale on Tuesday, September 22, 2020.
The initiative is under the Ministry of Business Development’s, National Entrepreneurship Innovation Plan (NEIP) program.
Sector minister, Dr Mohammed Ibrahim Awal revealed the Nana Addo led government is spending GhC 2 million to support the over 1.2 million persons living with disabilities to expand their businesses or trades across the country.
Dr Awal advised the beneficiaries to put the monies to good use, expand their businesses and create employment for others.

Beneficiaries from the three regions, numbering over 300, were grateful for the support and promised to invest the monies into their businesses and trades when they get back home.
The categories of groups that received the funds were, Agriculture, Fashion, Food and Beverages, as well as Trade and Commerce.
Speaking on behalf of the PWDs, Sanatu Nuhu, expressed their profound gratitude to the NPP government. She prayed that Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo Addo be retained as president in the upcoming December 7 general elections. She also encouraged her colleagues to vote for the NPP Member of Parliament (MP) aspirants in their various constituencies, so they will compliment the good works of the party.
However, government has promised to secure GhC 5 million for the PWDs Business Support Program next year, if they are retained in power come December 7, 2020 general elections of Ghana.
Present at the occasion were, MP for Bunkpurugu Constituency and North East Region, Hon. Solomon Namliit Boar, and Savannah Regional Minister, Hon. Salifu Adam Braimah, MMDCEs, as well as Member of Parliament aspirants of the NPP across the regions.
