The President of the Republic, Nana Akufo-Addo says his government will continue to pursue wealth creation as an avenue to reduce unemployment in the country.
The President was speaking at the Action Chapel organized Africa Business and Kingdom Leadership Summit in Accra.
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo told the eminent gathering that fundamental to wealth creation is improving the business environment and stimulating the private sector for unparalleled expansion and job creation.
“Our preoccupation over the last seven months is to put in place programmes and policies geared towards building the most business friendly economy in Africa to be a magnet for investment.
“We began establishing development policy framework that will help businesses expand and create jobs with a view also to promoting the growth and development of entrepreneurship,” he said.
The President anticipates a clear throughput between growth in the private sector and the creation of jobs.
“You all know in Ghana the widespread unemployment is the greatest threat to our future stability and social coherence.
“We can learn a lot from this global trend and promote a conducive and business friendly environment in our country.
“The wealth of our country is built on the private sector and the entrepreneurial spirit of the Ghanaian people,” he said.
Since assuming office in January 2017 has launched several initiatives including the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan (NEIP) which is geared at deliberately building up entrepreneurs who will give meaning to the President’s dream of wealth creation.
